In short
Written for the parent, not the pupil
Website design for tutors is usually read by a parent, not the pupil, and often late at night before an exam season they are already worried about. Make the subjects, levels and availability obvious and you will get the message.
What they are checking
What a parent looks at first
A parent choosing a tutor is checking three things: do you teach the exact subject and level, are you safe to be around their child, and can you actually fit them in. Everything that answers those should be near the top. Exam boards matter more than people expect, because GCSE maths with AQA is a different search from GCSE maths in general. Results and DBS status do the rest of the reassuring.
Website design for tutors is judged by a parent in about thirty seconds: right subject, right level, safe, available.
The essentials
What good website design for tutors actually includes
Six things a parent looks for before they message you.
- Subjects and levels, down to GCSE, A level, 11 plus or degree level
- Exam boards you cover, AQA, Edexcel, OCR and the rest
- Your DBS check and qualifications, stated plainly and up front
- Results and progress your pupils have made, with grades where you have them
- Whether sessions are online, in person or both, and the areas you travel to
- Rates and availability, including how far ahead you are booked

By subject
What we build for tutors
Website design for tutors has to answer a parent in about thirty seconds: subjects, levels, price, and whether you have any space left. This is what website design for tutors looks like across the tutors we build for.
Primary and SATs tutors
Year groups and subjects listed plainly, with your rates and session length on the page, so a parent is not emailing just to ask what it costs.
GCSE and A-level tutors
Subjects split by level and exam board, because that is how parents search and how they decide you are the right person to ask.
Maths and science specialists
Room for a page per subject on the larger packages, so each one has somewhere of its own to send people rather than sharing one long list.
English and languages tutors
Space for exam preparation, conversation practice and written work, with the levels you take written out from beginner upwards.
Music and instrument teachers
Instruments, grades and whether you teach at yours or theirs, with room for exams, recitals and what a first lesson actually involves.
Online and group tuition
How the sessions run, what a pupil needs at their end, and a contact form that asks for the year group and subject up front.

Choosing
Which package most tutors pick, and what to ask us about
Straight answers about our website design for tutors, so you can rule us in or out without ringing anybody.
- Starter suits a tutor with one main subject who just needs to exist online properly. It is one page and there is no contact form on it.
- Essential is the usual starting point: Home, Services and Contact, with a contact form so enquiries land in your inbox rather than your voicemail.
- Professional is where most tutors settle, because it adds the gallery or reviews section and includes one small update a month.
- Premium is for firms that want up to ten pages and their own blog to publish to.
- Already use a booking tool? We embed it so customers can pick a slot without leaving your site, at no extra cost.
- Anything not listed in the packages? Just ask. We will quote for it separately.
FAQs
Questions about website design for tutors
Should I say I am DBS checked?
Yes, prominently. It is the single most reassuring thing on a tutoring website and parents look for it. Say when it was issued and whether it is on the update service.
I tutor online only. Does location still matter?
Less, but not none. Plenty of parents still search with a town name out of habit, so it is worth saying where you are based even when you teach online everywhere.
How do I handle being fully booked?
Say so on the site rather than going quiet. A short line about your waiting list and when you next have space keeps you in mind for the following term instead of losing the parent to someone else.
How long until it is live?
We aim to send your first draft within ten working days of having everything we need, which in practice means ten working days from you finishing the setup form. Up to three review changes are included, and it goes live as soon as you are happy.
Do I have to write the words?
No. Tell us in plain English what you do and we shape it into the page copy, which is the part of website design for tutors that stalls most projects elsewhere. You are not sent a blank document and asked to fill it in, and you are not asked to choose templates, fonts or layouts either.
Am I tied in?
Website design for tutors here runs on a twelve month minimum term, then month to month. After the minimum term you can cancel with thirty days' written notice. Payment is two months upfront at sign-up, covering your first and final month, then monthly.
Who owns the website?
After the twelve month minimum term, full ownership of the website passes to you. That applies to every website design for tutors package we sell. The domain is registered as part of your package and stays associated with your business.
I already have a domain. Can you use it?
Yes. Put it on the setup form instead of a new one and we will point everything at it. If you would rather start with a new domain, we register that for you as part of the price.
What if I need a change after it is live?
Professional and Premium include one small update a month. Beyond that, changes are £10 plus VAT each. You email us what you want changed, you do not log in and do it yourself unless you want to.
Can I pay for the website up front instead?
Yes. Pay monthly is what most of our customers choose, but if you would rather pay for the build in one go, the traditional way, we will quote for that too. It is priced separately, as the design plus the domain and hosting, so just ask and we will put a price together.
