FAQs
Questions about website design for tradesmen
I already get all my work from word of mouth. Do I need a website?
Word of mouth still ends up online. Someone is given your name, then looks you up before ringing. If there is nothing to find, you are competing with whoever does have a website. A site does not replace recommendations, it converts them.
How long until it is live?
We aim to send your first draft within ten working days of having everything we need, which in practice means ten working days from you finishing the setup form. Up to three review changes are included, and it goes live as soon as you are happy.
Do I have to write the words?
No. Tell us in plain English what you do and we shape it into the page copy, which is the part of website design for tradesmen that stalls most projects elsewhere. You are not sent a blank document and asked to fill it in, and you are not asked to choose templates, fonts or layouts either.
Am I tied in?
Website design for tradesmen here runs on a twelve month minimum term, then month to month. After the minimum term you can cancel with thirty days' written notice. Payment is two months upfront at sign-up, covering your first and final month, then monthly.
Who owns the website?
After the twelve month minimum term, full ownership of the website passes to you. That applies to every website design for tradesmen package we sell. The domain is registered as part of your package and stays associated with your business.
I already have a domain. Can you use it?
Yes. Put it on the setup form instead of a new one and we will point everything at it. If you would rather start with a new domain, we register that for you as part of the price.
I do not have good photos of my work. Is that a problem?
It is not a blocker. We can build the site with appropriate stock images and swap in your own photos later. Even phone photos of finished jobs work well, so it is worth taking a few before you leave site.
Can you list all the areas I cover?
Yes. Service areas go on the site as real text, which is what local searches pick up. Tell us the towns and villages you actually travel to and we will put them where they count.
What if I need a change after it is live?
Professional and Premium include one small update a month. Beyond that, changes are £10 plus VAT each. You email us what you want changed, you do not log in and do it yourself unless you want to.
Can I pay for the website up front instead?
Yes. Pay monthly is what most of our customers choose, but if you would rather pay for the build in one go, the traditional way, we will quote for that too. It is priced separately, as the design plus the domain and hosting, so just ask and we will put a price together.
